October 13, 2014
October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month, and today we’re highlighting charity auctions initiated by a young 7-year-old philanthropist named Emma Bayer.
When Emma was just 3 years old, she and her dad met Women’s Professional Soccer star, McCall Zerboni. Known to each other as “MZ and Emmers,” McCall and Emma became fast friends. One day, McCall told Emma about her late aunt, who had just passed away from breast cancer, and this sparked inspiration from Emma and her family. Shortly thereafter, Emma and her family worked with McCall to get autographed memorabilia from members of her soccer team. They started selling the signed sports bras and items on eBay, and this initiative turned into an annual auction featuring autographed memorabilia from women athletes, celebrities and music stars – all to support breast cancer awareness. Together, they have raised nearly $30K on eBay to support the Keep a Breast Foundation.
Emma has listed her items again this October and you can bid on one-of-a-kind memorabilia, including pieces from:
Check out all of Emma’s hard work all month long and stay tuned for more signed memorabilia to support the Keep a Breast Foundation. Keep up the good work, MZ and Emmers!
