Doing Good Together

Help Our Veterans This July

For most of us, July brings to mind Independence Day parades, fireworks, and backyard barbecues. However, many forget that celebrating our nation’s independence is not just a holiday, it’s also a privilege—one that we couldn’t enjoy without the hard work of our country’s brave servicemen, many of whom served during the recent wars in the Middle East. That’s why this July, we’re leveraging our popular non profit fundraising platform eBay Giving Works, to help Iraq and Afghanistan Veterans of America (IAVA).

The IAVA is the first and largest non profit organization dedicated to improving the lives of the 2.8 million 21st Century veterans. To achieve this goal, the group offers programs in four key impact areas: health, education, employment, and community building.

Some of its successful programs include VetTogethers, wherein members organize local events for their community’s veterans. It also provides the Rapid Response Referral Program (RRRP), which connects veterans with professional transition managers who help them take advantage of the resources and benefits they’ve earned through their service.

Of course, as a non profit group, IAVA can only perform its admirable mission with the help of kind-hearted people like you. Fortunately, we’ve made donating easier than ever with our non profit fundraising platform.

If you have pre-owned (or even new) items you no longer need, you can auction them off on the eBay Giving Works website. Then, when you list the items, you can earmark and donate 10-100% of the proceeds to IAVA.

Buyers can help out, too. Just browse the IAVA charity auction page on our site to see all the pledged items for this non profit. You’ll find all sorts of products, from Army-issued hip holsters to second-hand gadgets, and even vintage baseball cards. No matter what your budget is, you can find something you’ll love—all while helping out veterans of the Iraq and Afghanistan Wars.

This July, join eBay Giving Works in honoring the brave men and women of the military. With every item you list on our site, or every product you buy from it, you help make sure that our country’s newest veterans—and their families—can have a brighter future to look forward to.
