This past Saturday, the eBay Giving Works team was honored to partner with the Global Poverty Project at the 3rd annual Global Citizen Festival in New York City’s Central Park. As part of this partnership, I had the opportunity to attend the festival to meet with attendees and let them know about the unique auctions we have up for sale and to let them know how they can help support Global Poverty Project on eBay.
The day before the festival began, our team spotted performing artists and actors such as Carrie Underwood, No Doubt and Jessica Alba…just to name a few! They were generous enough to sign items such as Fender guitars, drumheads and more. You can see - and bid on - all of the signed items here.
On the morning of the festival, I was stationed in the VIP tent behind the stage, where I had the once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to spot some of the festival’s biggest stars and supporters, such as Hugh Jackman, Katie Holmes and even surprise guest, Beyonce! Hollywood’s biggest celebrities came out in droves to support Global Poverty Project’s mission to end extreme poverty by 2030, but that’s not all who came out for the cause. In addition to seeing celebrities and musical acts, our team also had the chance to meet festival attendees and tell them more about Global Poverty Project, our charity auctions and how they can use eBay to support this very important cause.
The Global Citizen Festival was a great opportunity to show the positive impact that can happen when celebrities and good causes unite. Don't worry if you didn't make it to the festival though, because you can still support their cause and bid on some amazing items. Personally, I have my heart set on the guitar signed by No Doubt. Which Global Citizen Festival auction is on your wish list?
